Honour's Project: Coloured Background
Final backdrops for the final animation. The aim was to keep a theme of blue through the first scene before he descends underwater. The clouds were fun to paint as they were loose with needing refinement or details.

Honour's Project: Let the animating begin!
Last week I've finally started the animation part of production at last. This is currently all I have so far but I hope I can finish this sequence from the colour keys posted in a previous post.

Honour's Project: Colour Keys Act 4
More colour keys for my sequences. I played around with the contrast between the characters and their background. Originally I aimed to keep the diver to his suit to it's original colours however he didn't stand out very well. In the end the decision was made to have him as a bright blue tone, this lets the character stand out in contrast to the background while still keeping to the artistic direction.

Honours project: Progress presentation 12/03/15
This is week I had the opportunity to present the progress to my lecturers and the class on my research and work.
In the presentation I recapped what I discussed on the previous progress presentation back in February, I discussed the story concept in much precise detail to the class; my previous explanation for the story unfortunately left people in confusion over the plot so this week I wanted to be sure I explained the story much clearer. I also discussed a little about the iterative design process that went into designing the characters around their archetypes.
I also had the opportunity to show my fully completed animatic to the class too.
Overall they the class was very adequate about the presentation, most of the work shown in the presentation i.e. the concept development was interesting to say the least. The animatic was appreciated too.
There was more concern about the amount of time which I have left before submission (Within 6 weeks). There were suggestions to maybe take the project into different roots, one was the suggestion of animating small sections compared to the overall film.
In short I felt disappointed with my presentation, it was a pity the animatic was not very well applauded. A lot of work will be needing refinement if I wish to succeed in my project. Currently right now I feel I may need to take a step back from the project to evaluate my work and decide I wish to proceed.
